The Regulars...

"If it's not broke, don't fix it..."

As we have done many times before, we (the Four Food Friends) grabbed a late night dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  One of our favorite places to go, TCF has something for everyone...and a menu so big it should have a table of contents.  Per our usual conversation, we quickly turned to food talk.  Before we knew it, we were sharing our favorite pizza places, last meal requests, family party recipes, and recent slow-cooker success stories.  Smiling and laughing as our food comas set in, good times were had by all.

To our delight, it seems that two of us had become "regulars" at TCF.  Bartenders knew drink orders and applauded recent weddings.  It's one thing to eat at the same restaurant often...it's another to get to know the people who work there, and see them get to know you.  That's when your meal experience becomes more than just food and drink.  There's something comforting about having a go-to place to eat, drink, and be merry...especially when you go there two nights in a row!

There is also another restaurant that two of us frequent...Southern Heritage BBQ in Fremont, CA.  In the words of Captain Barbossa, it's one of those places that "can only be found by those who already know where it is."  We will definitely elaborate more about this restaurant in a later post, but suffice it to stay that while two of us became regulars at TCF, the other two became regulars at Southern Heritage.  Case and point:  One night I went in to order dinner for my husband.  When I suggested french fries as a side, the same woman who always takes our order immediately replied, "He likes potato salad."  :)

Naturally, given our love of food, we talked about starting a blog.  With that in mind, it's important to remember what we are not, in order to determine what we ARE...

We are not paid food critics.
We are not more qualified to evaluate food than anyone else.
We are not looking to tear down any particular style of food or restaurant.

It, therefore, follows that...

We are people who love good food.
We are friends who enjoy sharing food finds with others.
We are hoping to spread the word about some of our favorite places, and encourage other groups of people to find the same joy in food with friends as we do.

So, all that being said, we hope that you find our comments useful, we hope that you are excited to go out and try new places with friends, and we hope that you embark on your own quest to become "regulars" at your favorite food finds.

Happy Eating!
